ANEW Place Inc. hires Marsh as House Manager

Burlington, VT. – ANEW Place Inc. recently hired Richard Marsh as House Manager of their sober shelter, located at 89 North St. in Burlington.

Richard brings with him many years of experience in providing shelter and services to those experiencing homelessness. He previously worked as the Director of the Shepherd Home on the grounds of the Connecticut Valley State Hospital, a 70 bed Transitional Living Program, before it was transitioned to a permanent housing facility for homeless Veterans.

His dedication to the homeless population comes from his own personal experiences as a person who experienced homelessness. He successfully completed the Shepherd Home Program, which years later he would return to run. Kevin Pounds, Executive Director of ANEW Place Inc. said, ” Richard’s personal and professional experience makes him the perfect fit for this role. His big heart and steady hand ensures that our sober shelter will remain a welcoming community that helps our neighbors escape the cycle of homelessness. I’m excited to see him take this program to another level.”

Beyond a temporary place to stay, program participants attain a positive and supportive community, addiction recovery assistance including a sober living environment, mental health support, personal finance training, and aid in finding long-term housing. Our goal is not to create more shelter beds, but to equip more people with the tools for lifelong change.
