Bucks County residents face charges in alleged attacks on elderly Bensalem woman
Three people are charged with assaulting an elderly woman in their care after Bensalem police received videos allegedly showing the attacks.
Bensalem police opened the investigation last week after receiving video showing a woman in her 20’s punching an elderly woman in the face several times and demanding money as she reached into the woman’s pocket.
Police were able to identify the elderly victim, whose name was not released, and the suspects. The three incidents occurred at the elderly woman’s home in the 1400 block of Gibson Road.
Police did not explain the relationship between the three suspects and the woman in a news release announcing the arrest Friday.
While conducting a follow-up investigation with the Pennsylvania Adult Protective Services Agency, police were provided with two additional videos showing the same elderly woman being abused by other individuals, police said.
The videos show a woman punching the woman in the face and kicking her after she fell to the ground and a man pointing a BB gun at the woman and firing the weapon four times as she was laying in her bed, police said.
Brittany Kladky, 26, of Bristol, faces charges including robbery, two counts of simple assault and summary offenses.
Jewett Bowman, 46, of Bensalem, faces charges of possession of an instrument of a crime and four counts of simple assault and Emily Smith, 24, of Bristol, faces a simple assault charge.
All three suspects were arraigned and incarcerated in Bucks County prison, each in lieu of 10% of $350,000 bail.
