Gloria Mae (Aylward) Fabiano was born in Boston, MA on March 23,1935 to Mary Catherine (Richard) Aylward and John T. Aylward. She was raised in Jamaica Plain with her older siblings, the late John Aylward, AKA Noonie, his late and beloved wife, Alice Aylward, and her beloved sister, Dorothy Harnish, AKA Ducky, of Hollis, NH. Her home was filled with many extended family members that she loved dearly, and they all lovingly called her, “Tootsie”. Her late Uncle Bill S. Richard and late Aunt Dorothy Richard of Wrentham, MA were two of her favorite people through her entire life. She especially loved spending time with them, their seven children, and their huge family. Her cousin, the late Arthur Aylward of Lynn, was like a second brother to her as they grew up together as well. She was especially cherished her first born niece, Dorothy Johnson of Somerville, MA.
She spent many a summer at her family’s cottage near Silver Lake in Wilmington. There, she met her first husband, the late William J. Fabiano, with whom she was married for over 28 years and raised four children together in Tewksbury. She was blessed with many dear friends, especially the late Regina Thomas.
She excelled as a Real Estate Broker in the Tewksbury and Wilmington areas for well over 30 years, being recognized and awarded as a “Centurion” by Century21. She took much pride in helping many families to find their homes.
She later met and married the late A. Joseph Raetano and resided in Palm Harbor, FL for many years making many friends in Florida, especially Mary & Pete Franz of Palm Harbor. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing for her family.
She returned to Tewksbury to be closer to her family, resume real estate, and made many new friends at Emerald Court.
Gloria is survived by her four children and their spouses: William J. and Karen M. (Sbuttoni) Fabiano of Tewksbury, Michael J. and Cheryl A. (Nolan) Fabiano of Crystal Beach, FL, Gloria J. and Kevin F. Norman of Tewksbury, and Mary J. and Kevin B. Kelleher of Tewksbury. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Jennifer J, Heather J, and William J , Michael J, Daniel J, and Catherine J, Christina J and Kevin J, Alina J and Dominic J. She was doubly blessed with 7 great grandchildren: Eliezer J and Aaliyah J, Adalyn J, Levi J, and Finley J, and Ellie J. and Athena J, and many Aylward, and Richard nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private ceremony will be observed with her family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the D.I.P.G. Research at St. Jude’s Hospital in her memory and that of her beloved, cousin/angel Danny Nickerson of Foxboro.
