Woman charged after allegedly hitting man with mental disability with hammer – FOX13 News Memphis


MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police arrested a woman after she allegedly hit a man with mental disabilities with a hammer.

On Aug. 2, a house manager for A+ Care Solutions, a home health care company, contacted police and said he was a caregiver for a man who is a vulnerable adult.

According to an affidavit, the man is diagnosed with mental disabilities and other conditions.

The house manager told police he noticed the man had cuts and bruises on his forehead wrapped under Band-Aids, records show.

The man said his direct support professional, identified as Jamesa Clark, hit him with a hammer, according to the affidavit.

The man was taken to St. Francis Bartlett for treatment and a CT scan.

He told police Clark, 26, had hit him with a hammer.

Officers observed cuts on his forehead and leg, records show.

Clark is charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Abuse of an Elderly or Vulnerable Adult.
